Peanut Butter & Caramel Thickshake

This Peanut Butter Caramel Thickshake is as indulgent as it sounds - creamy, naturally sweet, and packed with wholesome goodness! Made with real, wholefood ingredients, it’s designed to keep you (and the kids!) feeling full and energised. Whether you need a quick breakfast, a nourishing after-school snack, or a fun weekend snack, this thickshake has you covered. Loaded with protein-rich peanut butter, creamy almond milk, bananas, dates, and chia seeds, it’s a nutrient-dense delight. We love topping ours with a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra touch of decadence, but that’s totally optional! And for those extra hot days, pour any leftovers into moulds to make delicious, creamy popsicles.

Peanut Butter and Caramel Thickshake

Ingredients:

THICKSHAKE
1 ½ frozen ripe bananas
1 cup (250ml) unsweetened almond milk
1-2 Medjool dates, pitted
1 tbsp (16g) chia seeds
1 tbsp protein powder or carob powder (optional)
Ice cubes (optional for a thicker texture)

CARAMEL

½ cup (80g) smooth peanut butter

2 tbsp (40ml) maple syrup (optional)

1 tbsp (20ml) coconut oil

½ tsp (2.5ml) vanilla extract


Method

  1. To make the caramel, place all ingredients into a small bowl and whisk until well combined. Transfer into a jar with a lid and set aside.

  2. To make the thickshake, combine the frozen banana, almond milk, dates and chia seeds in a blender. Add a spoonful of the homemade peanut butter caramel and blend until smooth and creamy. Add ice cubes if you prefer a thicker shake.

  3. Pour the thickshake into glasses, drizzling peanut butter caramel over the top for an added treat. 


Storing leftovers: Store leftover caramel in an airtight container or jar in the fridge for up to 10 days or freeze in small portions for up to 4 months. Freeze leftover thickshake in popsicle moulds for up to 4 months.
